So Yesterday, I got out of the house for a little while to do some grocery shopping. I also headed to our local Goodwill. I ran into a lovely friend of mine, Carrie, and scored some awesome things. I picked up a bunch of t-shirts so that I would retry my failure of a dress for Allie. More on that later. I also got the following beautiful items.
They are pewter candlestick holders. When i saw them, they literally took my breath away. The detail on them is just beautiful, and I love how they have tarnished.
I have two of these, I just love the detail.
This is my favorite one, sorry for the crappy picture. I am not quite sure where they are going yet, but they will find a wonderful home here. I love them. I just love old things.
I also scored these beauties. I am going to repaint them, but I love the detail. These are going to go on my living room wall, that is still being put together.
There actually is another little one two, but I couldn't find it.
What a well worth it trip to the local thrift store. I love finding wonderful things like this. I hope you all have a great Tuesday. It is actually going to be in the upper 40s today, and sunny for once. I so need the sun, I am sick of the gloom.
Shelly :)

Making Misfits Mine Monday and Allie's first CC Skiing Experience
Happy Monday to you all. I really hope that you had a great weekend. I did, but I will tell you about that in another post. My aunt and I went to Goodwill today, and I scored some awesome finds. Here they are.
I was so excited when I saw these. There are two of them for $4.99 a piece. Totally sturdy. I love them the way they are, but I am going to paint the wood parts. I am leaving the seat though, love it. This is going in our craft room.
This frame is so beautiful. This picture does not do it justice. Looks antique. I am not touching it.
I got this great sweater for me. The boots are for Allie next year. They were brand new, rated for 40 below F, and only $2.99. I know they are not girly, but in this cold that does not matter. The ugly box, I am going to redo. Allie got a Leapster Explorer for Christmas, and she needs a sturdy case. That is what this will become for only $1.99.
I love this too. I am going to paint it and use it for storage in my new craft room.
I felt like today brought many wonderful finds. I love Mondays. The temperature is finally back above 20, so we took Allie outside cross-country skiing for the first time today. My husband skis a lot, and actually races. Allie was a bit hesitant at first, but the moment she got out there she was hooked

Making Misfits Mine Monday and Answered Prayer
Happy Monday Everyone,
What a weekend. Some things good and some things not so good. On the good note, no great note, my friend's baby is still here. They took him off of everything on Saturday since no change had happened. Well despite what the doctors told them, he is still here. He even is looking around, and moving a little. This can be explained by no other then God. They still do not know what damage has been done, or what the brain activity is like. I believe they plan to be doing more tests soon. I realize that this does not mean he is out of the woods, but God has shown His power already. Miracles still happen everyday. We also had a good time with family on Saturday. We went to look at a house for my husband's sister, and had a Green Bay Packer party at our house. I could care less about football, but the boys were happy the Packers won. Josie, our puppy, is doing great with house training. She has only had a couple of accidents in the last few days. Yeah! The bad note, I got really sick Saturday night through some of today. Glad I am better. My hubby had to work a lot this weekend, so I did not get much help. Thankfully my daughter and new puppy are pretty mellow and like to chill.
My daughter and I did some low key crafts this weekend, to keep her occupied. We melted some of her broken crayons into some new ones.

Helping me break the crayons(Nice Face)
Here they are ready to melt.
Here they are done. So nice to not waste them.
We also did a snowman craft with Marshmallows. I got the idea here http://www.katiesnestingspot.com/2011/01/marshmallow-snowman.html. This was Allie's first time with Elmer's glue, and she did great. I drew the outline of the snowman, and let her place the rest where she wanted. She has her own interpretation of a snowman, I guess. :)
This one definitely goes in the scrapbook.
I also have a couple of items for Making Misfits Mine Monday. We went to Goodwill on Saturday and got a couple of things, and my aunt went through her closet. Got some great clothes to wear right away, and a couple for recycling.
I collect Blue Glass, and I was so excited to get this for $3.
Pretty cute! Going to add something to it for V-Day.
Plain t-shirts, but I already have great plans for them.
These are too short, but I have some great ideas for these.

These are ugly, but I will come up with something.
Well that is pretty much it for today. Have to get supper going before the hubby gets home. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Making Misfits Mine Monday
Good evening Everyone,
I have had a great day. My friend Lisa, Allieroo, and I went thrifting today. We drove to a wonderful place about an hour a way, and had so much fun. I am going to try to post every Monday the great finds that I have found for myself. I call them Misfits because they were to someone, but they will be great for me.

This is my friend, Lisa. Isn't she beautiful.
So here are the pictures of my great finds.
I got the black metal thing for $1.50. I am going to redo it for Valentine's Day. Will show you pictures when I finish. I got the two silver heart candle holders for $.50 a piece, and the green trees for $.50 a piece. Have plans for both of them.
Love this red bag. I got it for $4. I might add something to it, but I love it the way it is.
They have the best selection of vintage fabric at this store. I have no idea what I am going to do with any of this, but I love them. I spent about $2 per bundle of fabric.
Last but not least, the two candle holders cost $.50 a piece, and the banana clip $.10. I want to try that in my daughters hair. I will use the others for V-day decorating.
I also got tons of shirts for my husband at about $2 a piece, and a pair of jeans for $6. Most of them still had the tags on them. I also go myself a couple of cool shirts. Anyway, it was a successful day, and I had a great time with my friend and daughter. My daughter loves a good deal, so I am training her already.
Have a great night!
