Unicorn Hair Clip Holder

Happy Thursday! Mine was pretty good. I did not have to watch my niece and nephew today, so I got to go to MOPS. It was the first time I got to go this year. I love being able to get together with other moms, and meeting new people. I am hoping to attend a few more once I start working for my hubby. I then only have a year and a half before I will no longer be a mother of a pre-schooler. That is crazy to me, and sad. We made a rice filled neck warmer. Great timing because it is my husbands aunt's birthday on Sunday. It will be a great present for her.

I told you that I started to use my new Silhoutte SD. I made two things yesterday using it. I am only go to show you one though today because I have some new ideas with the other. My daughter has tons of hair clips, and they have been in a flower container. Recently, during naptime she dumps all of them out on the floor. Had to fix that problem. I decided to make her a hair clip holder. Her room is princess, and we are adding unicorns. I used stuff I had on hand, so it is not my dream project, but it works for now.
This is the finished project. I wish I had brighter pink paper for the letters, but oh well.

Supplies needed:
Flower Hanging Plaque (got mine at Walmart a long time ago)
Mod Podge
Scrapbook paper
ribbon
paint and brush
metal ring
Silhouette SD
adhesive of choice
 hot glue
clothes pins
  1. Trace the shape of the flower onto the scrapbook paper, and cut it out.

  2. Paint the edge of the plaque the color of your choice. I used white.

  3. Mod Podge the paper to the plaque.

  4. Take three clothes pins, and hot glue scapbook paper to them.

  5. Hot glue the clothes pins to the board.

6. Wrap the metal ring in ribbon.

7. Attach ring to plaque with ribbon but hot glueing the ribbon to the clothes pin.

8. Glue two other ribbons to the other clothes pins.

9.Cut out letters and unicorn on the Silhouette SD.

10. Adhere them to the plaque and clothes pins.

I do like it, but I just wish I had brighter paper for the letters. I guess I will have to redo that some other time.
